Estimates and sells service agreements on fire sprinklers, backflow assembly testing, fire alarm systems, and related low voltage maintenance agreements.


Essential Functions, Skills & Abilities:

Professionally represents the company to customers.

Effectively communicate with others including but not limited to: customers, vendors, jobsite personnel, co-workers, and management.

Confer with personnel, owners, and contractors in regards to work procedures, complaints, and problems.

Analyzes needs and product requirements to perform inspections and testing.

Study job specifications to determine appropriate estimation methods.

Determine labor requirements for project estimation and costing of man-hours.

Use personal computer, phone, email, copier and/or other office equipment. 

Use MS Office Suite - primarily Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Can compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Ability to read, comprehend, and compose simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Exercise a high level of autonomy in organizing, planning, and prioritizing own work.

Use extensive concentration, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.

Take initiative to monitor/assess own performance to make improvements and/or take corrective action.

Prepare and submit progress reports and cost tracking reports.

Take actions to deal with results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at job sites to ensure proper procedures are being carried out.

Coordinate and oversee subcontractors.

Develop and implement quality control programs.

Accurately interpret instructions and directives as assigned by supervisor.

Complete work in a timely manner as outlined by supervisor.


Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Does not oversee the work of others.


Work Environment: 

May be inside a climate controlled office setting, outside in various weather conditions, or in company vehicle.

Will drive a company vehicle or personal vehicle with car allowance on a regular basis for company business. 


Hours of Work: 

Normal workweek of daytime hours, Monday Friday.  Weekend, evening or overtime work as needed.

Regular and punctual attendance is required.



Abides by established industry, OSHA, and company safe work practices.

Maintains company property and equipment to ensure safe and proper use.

Wears approved PPE at all times as required by certain jobs.

Identifies and communicates unsafe conditions, safety violations, near misses, and injuries to Safety Manager/HR in a timely manner.


Safety Sensitive:

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it includes as part of the job duties operating a motor vehicle and being on location at construction and industrial job sites where heavy and mobile equipment is being used.  This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death.  For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate and be aware of the surroundings. 



Travel to various customer locations and jobsites.  Overnight travel depending on customer/jobsite.


Driving Requirements:

Drives a motor vehicle for company use on a regular basis.

Must possess valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.


Required Education and Experience: 

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

1-year sales experience.

3 years of industry experience preferred.


Additional Qualifications: 

Must obtain necessary licenses as required.  NICET Certification for Water Based Systems, Fire Alarm, Special Hazards and Security are preferred.
