VSC Fire & Security, a provider of Audio-Visual, Communications, and Security products and services, is seeking an experienced Account Manager for its Ashland, VA location. The Account Manager drives growth by developing and strengthening customer relationships. The selected individual will act as a liaison between end users, specifying bodies, and internal teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying key contacts, procurement processes, and projects within potential client agencies
  • Identifying customer needs and working with internal engineers to understand how products and services offered can address those needs
  • Arranging and participating in demonstrations to end users, specifying bodies, and trade show attendees alongside internal engineers and vendor representatives
  • Delivering quotes developed through coordination with internal engineering and estimating teams
  • Managing customer concerns and contract discrepancies by coordinating solutions with relevant internal teams
  • Being constantly aware of the current status and target milestones of potential and ongoing projects
  • Frequent travel, occasionally overnight, for client meetings and trade shows throughout the state of Virginia

The ideal candidate would:

  • Have previous experience and proven success in an Account Manager role
  • Be highly motivated and self-starting
  • Have above average interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and negotiate while exuding friendliness and confidence
  • Understand when additional support from engineering and project management teams is needed to avoid making promises that cannot be delivered
  • Be familiar with audio and video conferencing solutions such as Zoom, Skype, Teams, or WebEx for remote meetings with clients and internal teams
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office applications
  • Be highly organized and reliable, ensuring all customer needs are addressed in a timely manner
  • Have an established understanding of RFP and Construction Bid processes
  • Understand the functionality expected of Audio-Visual, Communications, and Security systems
  • Hold, or be eligible to hold, a DCJS Electronic Security Sales Registration
    • A criminal background check will be required prior to date of hire
