JOB TITLE:                          Low Voltage Manager  

CLASSIFICATION:             Non-Exempt Technical/Administrative

REPORTS TO:                    Office Manager or Division Manager


This job description outlines representative job duties associated with the position, but is not intended to be a complete or exclusive description of all possible assignments and tasks the individual employee may encounter in the course of work. The responsibilities for this position include direct coordination and management of the daily schedules for field Service Technicians providing fire alarm, low voltage and fire protection services to a wide variety of customers.   The Low Voltage Manager will interact with customers when service calls are received and then coordinate the daily schedules for the Service Technicians.  The Low Voltage Manager will work with the customer and technician schedules and document the initial site assessment and any necessary follow-up service visits in order to address the needs of the customer. The Low Voltage Manager is responsible for invoicing the customer and also manages accounts receivables for technician services.



  • Ability to work with accuracy and judgment in responding to a wide variety of tasks
  • Self-starter who is organized and thrives on providing organization and order in a busy field service call business setting
  • Experience with customer service should include advanced interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, the ability to understand and address customer issues and concerns and strong problem solving skills
  • Experience with bookkeeping procedures, including billing, accounts receivable and collections
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office) essential with accurate keyboarding skills
  • Aptitude to learn VSC Fire & Security, Inc. accounting software program
  • Geographical knowledge of the service area
  • Excellent aptitude for map reading
  • Construction industry experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience in scheduling and dispatching field service calls



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ten years related experience and/or training in fire alarm, electronic security or a related field along with prior management experience



Customer Service Coordination

  • Interact with customers regarding requests for field service calls
  • Coordinate Service Technician schedule for all site visits to customer
  • Document the services provided by Service Technicians after completion of each call
  • Contact customers with a "Parts Pending" status as parts are received for scheduling
  • Coordinate all pending and recommended work with customer utilizing the pending work log
  • Check service time cards for accuracy comparing timecards and work orders to service schedule
  • Issue and process purchase orders for parts ordered and maintain database for accurate receipt of materials
  • Maintain positive customer service interaction in all contact with clients, and provides helpful and problem-solving approach to difficult situations
  • Manage all aspects of customer billing and accounts receivable for service calls
  • Track payments received and review accounts receivable for overdue payments
  • Maintain systematic collection procedures for delinquent accounts
  • Support office and field employee requests for forms, paperwork, or other information as needed



Individual works in non-smoking office environment utilizing standard office equipment. Position requires visual acuity for PC and record keeping activities; auditory acuity for heavy telephone use.  Occasional light lifting and moving (20-25 pounds) for office supplies. No identified job hazards.
