Inspection Sales/Estimating - Atlanta

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

Responsible to create, maintain and develop client base to meet mutually established department goals. Has primary responsibility to generate new business through prospecting and networking in order to quote and close opportunities on Test & Inspection contracts for low voltage systems.

 

Position requires a proven, productive and goal oriented sales representative, able to evaluate existing installed Fire Alarm, Clean Agent and Sprinkler systems of various manufacturers and prepare and present a sales proposal for contracted Inspection & Testing services. Knowledge of Fire Alarm, Clean Agent and Sprinkler systems required to evaluate and meet customer needs. May also include Central Supervisory subscriptions in the proposals. Responsible for the evaluation of contracted inspection performance from a profit and loss perspective, including meeting department financial goals. Achieves high level of customer satisfaction, contract renewals, and develops a continuously evolving business plan to achieve those goals.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

 

Knowledge and experience related to the installation and maintenance of Fire Alarm and Clean Agent systems installations. Must have working knowledge of applicable State Code, Local, and BOCA Codes, NFPA Standards, and the Authorities Having Jurisdiction governing the location of the company's work geography. Good record keeping and personal organizational skills are essential to complete forms and documentation related to sales proposals and with respect to the documentation of the inspection process. Ability to make potential client contacts, meet external representatives at all levels of the client organization and to represent the Company in a professional manner with good interpersonal communication skills, integrity, and with the required respect for the fire protection profession's primary goals of life safety and property protection. Demonstrated successful experience generating new business is required. Demonstrated PC skills including Excel, Word and customer database management. A NICET Certification is a plus.

MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. SALES AND ESTIMATING

 

  1. Maintains current client base through scheduled contact with owners and property
  2. Seeks new business through follow up of leads, the establishment of new contacts, the adoption of specific marketing strategies, and the expansion of existing related service
  3. Prepares proposals, submits estimates, and negotiates contracts with new customers and diligently seeks to renew or expand existing
  4. Communicates with Operations Management on budgetary resource commitments, and monitors job costs and profitability of contracted inspection work to meet department

 

  1. INSPECTION SITE COMMUNICATION

 

  1. Responsible to provide inspection oriented site evaluations to clients and to assist the Operations Department in the expeditious handling of discrepancies, complaints, and advice on recommended remedial action, or procedures as
  2. Establish and maintain communications with Owners, and their representatives
  3. In all cases will work closely with clients to insure that all circumstances involving disagreement as to scope, method of handling on site conditions, or other client dissatisfaction, is handled tactfully, and with patience and
  4. Communicates regularly with the Operations Manager and staff regarding the status of follow up on inspection

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

Makes sales calls to established customers and to develop new business. Requires mobility to visit client offices and other types of facilities. Requires standard business hours plus occasional overnight travel. Visits job sites to monitor work in progress, determine scope of work for proposals. Requires visual acuity to read documents and drawings as needed.

 

Individual also performs administrative tasks in office environment utilizing standard office equipment. Position requires visual acuity for PC and written documents; requires excellent speaking voice for phone interaction and auditory acuity for telephone use as well as digital dexterity for PC use.

 

Must possess valid driver's license and suitable private vehicle for business use (reimbursement program)

 

JOB HAZARDS:

 

Work performed in variety of office, commercial and industrial sites, which may include hard-hat areas. When making site visits, may traverse rough terrain and hard-hat construction areas. On job-sites, must remain alert to job-site hazards and safety requirements.
