VSC Fire & Security is seeking candidates for an Alarm Service Sales Representative for the Washington, DC area. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your professional sales career and work for a dynamic company.

We are looking for a talented sales professional to contribute to our expansion in the sale of service agreements for fire alarm, access control, security and related life safety systems in the commercial building market. 

Qualified candidates shall have prior hands-on field experience in services, information, and/or products to other businesses. We are looking for candidates who are able to learn the fundamentals of new products and then have the talent and motivation to use that knowledge to deliver sales results.

The successful Alarm Service Sales Representative candidate will have experience that includes:

  • Extensive knowledge fire protection and life safety systems and fire protection regulatory standards, and state and local codes
  • Ability to read and understand fire protection and system drawings
  • Leadership skills, including ability to communicate, address personnel issues and make fair decisions related to service project demands, customer service and employee assignments
  • Ability to perform work in an efficient and organized matter and maintain thorough record keeping skills
  • Ability to professionally communicate with customers and provide excellent customer service 

The Alarm Service Sales Representative will:

  • Generate proposals based off inspection deficiencies
  • Develops and maintains close working relationship with customer and referral base
  • Seeks new business through follow up of leads, the establishment of new contacts, periodic communication with former customers, the adoption of specific marketing strategies, and of existing related service offerings
  • Prepares proposals, submits estimates, and negotiates contracts with new and recurring customers, and diligently seeks to obtain the contract within established financial guidelines for division
  • Assist the Service Manager in planning, scheduling and assist with direct day-to-day operations
  • Establish and maintain communication with customers and other contractors pertaining to work schedules, etc.
