Our fast-growing fire sprinkler protection and life safety system company has a full-time career opportunity for an Inspections Manager in North Charleston, SC. With annual sales of more than $130 million, we are growing rapidly and are recruiting top fire protection and life safety talent to join our team.

We are looking for an Inspections Manager with a proven track record, strong business management expertise, and excellent communications skills.   The Inspection Manager is responsible for management and supervision of inspections team and also generates new business and coordinates estimates on contract opportunities.  The Inspections Manager also assigns and monitors work of Inspections Department coordinates hiring, training, development, and, if needed, disciplinary action and termination of the inspections staff. 

The successful Inspections Manager candidate will have experience that includes:

  • NICET certification (required)
  • Knowledge and experience related to the installation and maintenance of fire protection systems including fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and fire extinguishers
  • Working knowledge of applicable State and Local Codes, NFPA Standards, and the Authorities Having Jurisdiction governing the location of the company's work geography
  • Demonstrated successful experience generating new business as well as management experience required

 The Inspections Manager:

  • Maintains current client base through scheduled contact with owners and property managers and seeks new business through follow up of leads, new
  • contacts, specific marketing strategies and the expansion of related services
  • Prepares proposals, submits estimates, and negotiates contracts with new and established customers
  • Monitors activity, productivity and accuracy of department inspectors to generate and maintain their client accounts
  • Plans and monitors job costs and profitability of contracted inspection work to meet department goals
  • Provides inspection site evaluations to clients and to handle discrepancies, complaints, and advice on recommended remedial action or procedures
  • Communicates with facility owners, their representatives, tenants, occupants, and other contractors pertaining to anticipated inconveniences, critical outages, supervisory station notifications, and insurance carrier recommendations
  • Coordinates with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and building inspectors where required, to represent the client's interests and to resolve issues of non-compliance or discrepancy
  • Monitors the inspection reports regarding discrepancy or non-compliance, and follows up appropriate interventions
  • Visits sites as necessary to check on progress of work, and fulfillment of contractual commitments
  • Maintains inspection technician performance criteria and NICET certification levels
  • Manages the inspection department safety program, training and protocols
  • Provides in-service training for department personnel and supports training and testing for staff NICET certification
